Porous Graphene

Perspectives

Go to Korean

Perforation of tiny pores in the graphene can create an atomically thin 2D orifice. Mass transport across this thinnest feasible membrane can minimize transport  resistance, thereby enhancing the transport efficiency. To embody such 2D-orifice-inspired membrane material, we opt for a bottom-up manufacturing method, that is to directly synthesize graphene with inherent pores. To this end, we engineer the metal catalyst in the graphene synthesis process (catalytic chemical vapor deposition) with which to develop a membrane device having both mechanical sturdiness and transport efficiency.
